Big Boy Room Reveal

This project was so exciting for me because I hadn't yet designed a space for a young boy. Ethan, my client requested an orange and red room! His mom was cringing at the idea of orange and red and requested I work some magic and still meet his requests. So, that we did!

Just to give you an idea of the drastic difference, here's where we started!

Ethan got his orange and red mixed in with grays and navy! We added custom navy, herringbone drapes, a wall of shelves, stripes, and more stripes! This science loving kiddo now has a place to read to his hearts content and ponder new experiments!

Guest Bedroom Reveal

A while back I posted here about a guest bedroom I was working on. I'm glad to say the room is now complete and very inviting for guests. This project was a challenge in that I was on a tight budget and yet trying to fill an empty space. When I started there was only a bed in the space. Here's the before shot:

And after:

This space is bright and layered with color and patterns now!

Ava's Big Girl Room

My sweet 4 year old has been in her big girl room for at least a year now so it's a bit embarrassing that I'm just sharing this space with you! Life has happened, which involves my now 10 month old and I'm slowly getting back into blogging and trying very hard to get caught up photographing all the projects I've completed. This was one of the many projects on my list! Hope you enjoy her very pink and colorful space as much as she does!!

Bedroom Design

I always love working with repeat clients and am always thankful for the opportunities! This time my client wanted to redo her master bedroom. She wanted a sitting area and a serene, but colorful space to go with the SW Useful Gray she painted her walls recently. Not only will she get color, but a touch of glamour too!!

Fall is Here

Fall is officially here and while the cool temps might not have arrived yet, I can still dream of everything fall means....

The leaves changing colors and acorns falling to the ground...

Pumpkins, gourds, and mums on porches...

Plaid scarves, booties, and cheetah print...

What's your favorite part of the season?

Breakfast Room Design

I'm back with another design for the Gossford House. Remember, last week's design was the living room. We are sticking with a cozy and comfortable feel throughout so even if it's freezing outside, it will be warm inside all year round! Our pallet is full of neutrals, and shades of blue including navy. This week we move into the breakfast area where many family dinners will be enjoyed!

My favorite part of the design has to be the graphic prints above the buffet! They definitely bring a lot of visual interest to this space!

Living Room Design

It's bittersweet that I post this living room design because it means that our dear friends have moved onward and upward! Upward, as in basically Canada! They've moved on to the land of ice and snow which is not common ground for Texans!

I am lucky enough to have designed a few spaces in the new house they are currently building and I know they will have a cozy and warm place to call their new home! This will be their new family room to make wonderful memories in with their precious kiddos!

I can't wait to go visit them and see the room in person! My friend is so eager and already purchasing items off the design! Yeah, she's a dream client!

I'll be sharing their breakfast area and master bedroom in the coming days so stay tuned!

Project Chang Reveal

My best friend's little boy was in need of a room change since he's gaining a little brother this month!  He's still in a crib, so we moved it into a different room and added other new furniture and decor to make it feel like his very own big boy room! It's industrial and all boy without feeling juvenile! No characters here except the ones found in his cozy reading corner!

Project Royal

Project Royal wrapped a while back and I'm finally ready to show off this gray and purple nursery I had the privilege of working on for a sweet baby girl! Remember, the room started out as a guest bedroom?

And here is baby girl's nursery now!

The walls were painted SW Light French Gray and Grape Mist on the ceiling. The crib is the Emelia crib from Restoration Hardware and is no longer available. The bedding is also Restoration Hardware. The glider, pillow, and drapes are custom and available through me.

My client absolutely loves the new space and said it's very calming. She spends a lot of time rocking and feeding her new miracle in there so she needed a peaceful retreat. That glider is so amazingly comfortable too!

This was such an enjoyable project and my client was fabulous to work with which made my job that much easier!

Damaged Goods

Remember this table from Home Decorators I was planning on ordering for the gameroom?

Yep, it arrived! I carried each metal piece up our tall flight of stairs, then carried the top and bottom solid wood pieces that weighed a ton up the very tall flight of stairs, and stared in disbelief! DAMAGED! The same corner on the top and bottom pieces was basically ripped off. Good job UPS for damaging in transit! So, back downstairs it went and sat and sat and sat. Finally after several more phone calls UPS arrived to return it.

now what you ask? I searched for a different option and found this:

I ordered this Safavieh table from Target knowing it could easily be returned if there were issues. And yes there were issues! DAMAGED...chunks of wood and missing paint in several areas. And, just fyi, the color description says cream online when in fact the table is dark gray!

I really like the look so I ordered another one and a chair showed up instead! Are you kidding me? Now, I'm waiting for another table to arrive! Thankfully UPS promptly picked up the chair! We shall see if a table comes this time. 4th time is a charm right?!

Great Lighting Find

Don't you love a great find? Items on sale make me giddy! Just look at this fabulous wood beaded chandelier from Pottery Barn Kids! It was $199 and is currently $118.99! Such a great price!

This would look great in any nursery, children's bedroom, or playroom! It adds warmth and texture to a neutral, or colorful space! It's darling in the above nursery and yet so simple! I sure wish there was a space for it in my home!!

Guest Bedroom Design

This is the design for a guest bedroom I'm working on. My client's main purpose for the space is to have a bright and welcoming space for her sweet mom when she visits. She loves the colors of the ocean so that was our jumping off point, plus her mom loves coral so I combined the two.

The space was a bare canvas since the family just moved in to their newly built home. This week, it was painted a light shade of gray and already looks better! We are waiting for everything to arrive that we ordered and I'll be installing the first week of June! I can't wait to see it all come together!

Game Room Updates

This is a small area of our game room which has always been the dumping ground for all unused or leftover furniture and decor. I've finally decided to revamp the space with a fresh color palette and vibe!

I restyled this console last week and added a new pair of mercury glass lamps which helps fill out the large wall. I also grabbed the frame and coral from my decor closet and the empty glass hurricane which is now filled with rocks, moss, and greenery! Check off this spot! One area complete!

Ok, so moving on! I currently have a black and white striped rug which I love, but it doesn't work with the direction I'm headed.

I'm switching to blues and yellows so I ordered this new aqua rug today!

I love a good herringbone pattern! Plus, you can't beat the Memorial Day sales going on right now!

This fabric is being used for 2 throw pillows on the sofa. I'll use my current yellow trellis pillow then add another new print!

Would love to replace the 2 gray Ikea tables with this hefty piece! The gray tables were a quick fix and have worked up until now, but I'm kind of concerned with the extra sharp edges on them and the kiddos playing upstairs! Hopefully Home Decorators will have a sale here soon and I can order this piece!

Last, I need to decide on a fabric for new drapery. Currently I have cream Duipioni Silk drapes from Pottery Barn that work, but are boring! Stay tuned and see what I pick. I'm thinking navy!
